Home: Feb 21, 2006 videoconference with Robert Bell Get Broadband Videoconference with Robert Bell - Feb 21, 2006
The Blandin Broadband Initiative hosted a videoconference on Tuesday, February 21 from 10:00 - 11:30 am at four greater Minnesota locations. Sites are listed below. The program was excellent. Robert Bell, executive director of the Intelligent Community Forum was our guest speaker. The Forum has an excellent framework for organizing your community strategies on technology. They also have a global competition for communities who are having success in promoting technology and community vitality. Winners are from both large and small communities. Check out the web site for great case studies. Robert's presentation was very interesting. The presentation was non-technical and involves community organizing, vision and leadership around technology issues and opportunities. We spoke briefly about the Broadband Initiative's Communities of Interest effort that we are launching in March and on the planning approach that we have now used in two of our new Blandin Broadband communities. This approach helped to bring great ideas to the planning table and offered community organizations an opportunity to bring their technology agendas to the table for shared success. We will also make a couple awards for outstanding efforts by our program participants. Here are the sites.
